Voyage Care is one of the UK’s leading providers of care for over 3,500 people with learning and physical disabilities, brain injuries, autism, and complex needs.

With a focus on empowering individuals to live as independently as possible, their services span residential care, supported living, in-home support, and community-based services. As a sector leader, Voyage Care required a digital presence that truly reflected their purpose, values, and the transformative work they do.

The Challenge

Voyage Care recognised that their existing site was not representative of their position as industry-leaders and the incredible work they do. They required a smooth, modern website that catered to their wide range of users by improving the user experience through visually appealing design and clear CTAs.

They also needed a complete visual refresh of the website, to bring it in line with their recently updated brand guidelines. Furthermore, they needed clearer tracking to help them evaluate and measure website performance and make data-led decisions to improve lead generation and conversion rates.

The Solution

As a healthcare digital agency, our approach began with an in-depth Discovery phase, during which we ran in-person, interactive workshops to gather stakeholder requirements. These sessions allowed us to fully understand the needs of all key audiences including care professionals, families, case managers, and even investors. Through these workshops, we collected valuable insights that informed the creation of a clear scope of work, a detailed sitemap, and precise user stories and journeys.

This collaborative process helped define how the website should function for each user group, ensuring a personalised and intuitive experience for all. With this foundation in place, we selected the most appropriate content management system (CMS) for the project, ensuring scalability, ease of use, and long-term flexibility.

As part of this process, we conducted a comprehensive content audit to evaluate and refine existing materials. This enabled us to identify opportunities for improvement, ensuring that the content was aligned with the new user journeys and had maximum impact. We made sure the content was clear, concise, and accessible, improving both the user experience and the overall effectiveness of the website.

The website then underwent a complete visual transformation to align with Voyage Care’s refreshed branding. We focused on designing a balance of aesthetics and functionality, ensuring that the site was not only visually appealing but also user-friendly and accessible (to the WCAG 2.2 AA standard). Clear user journeys were designed for different user groups to ensure an intuitive experience throughout the website.

To provide long-term flexibility, we created a block-based design system in WordPress, allowing Voyage Care’s team to easily add new pages and content as their business evolves. We also streamlined the contact forms to integrate seamlessly with their Dynamics CRM, improving the lead capture process and enabling faster, more efficient responses.

With performance in mind, the new site was fully optimised for cross-device and cross-browser compatibility, launching with a page speed score above 90%, ensuring that all users could enjoy a fast, accessible, and responsive experience.

What’s next

We continue to support Voyage Care by implementing ongoing improvements based on user feedback, data analysis, and emerging trends. Regular updates ensure that the website evolves alongside the needs of the business, introducing new features and enhancements to optimise the user experience.

In addition to ongoing website improvements, WebBox manages Voyage Care’s PPC campaigns to drive more qualified leads for the business. We work closely with the Voyage Care team to refine and optimise these campaigns based on data, ensuring maximum ROI and alignment with their business objectives. This includes supporting the business when new care sites are opened across the UK, ensuring that local campaigns are tailored to drive awareness and engagement for each new location.
