What Claire does at WebBox?

Claire is one of our web developers and is always ready for an adventure - the first one is moving across the world from her native New Zealand and to the UK. Prior to working as a web developer, Claire worked in various office and hospitality roles to work out what she wanted to do - which is where Web Development came in.

After deciding that it looked like an interesting career, she took it upon herself to study software development in New Zealand, then securing her first job for a fintech start-up in New Zealand before moving to the UK and joining us at WebBox.

Q&A

What do you like to do outside of work?
Lots of things, yoga, gardening, playing the piano or inventing games to entertain my indoor cat.

What’s the best thing about working at WebBox?
How friendly and welcoming everyone has been since I started here, and the fact that I can solely focus on backend development and no longer have to pretend to be a designer or enjoy working with javascript!

You can only listen to one artist or band for the rest of your life. Who is it?
Hmm, tough call since I only usually like a handful of songs by any one artist or band. I’d probably choose a classical composer like Beethoven.

What’s something we might not know about you?
I secretly want to live in an off-grid tiny house in the middle of nowhere.

And most importantly, for agency life, how do you take your tea/coffee?
I have a secret that I need to keep under wraps around tea drinkers... I’m not much of a tea or coffee drinker - instead, I quite like the occasional kombucha.
