The British Orthodontic Society

Background

The British Orthodontic Society (BOS) is a professional association that represents orthodontists in the United Kingdom. Established in 1907, BOS is dedicated to promoting the highest standards of orthodontic practice, education, and research. BOS provides a wide range of resources and support to its members, including continuing education courses, networking opportunities, and access to the latest research and developments in orthodontics. Its website serves as a hub for members, providing valuable resources, information, and news.

Our Approach

At WebBox, we take a thorough and structured approach to all our projects. Our approach to this project began with a discovery phase, where our team worked closely with BOS to understand their goals and requirements for the new website and, in turn, recommended a secure and scalable CMS for the project. To address BOS’ challenges, our team proposed redesigning their website, with a bespoke theme and build process. From there, we moved on to the design phase, creating high-fidelity page layouts while considering aspects such as branding, positioning, imagery, accessibility, user experience and call to actions. Once the design phase was signed off, our team of developers ensured that the website is developed in accordance with the scope, designs and project plan. This was followed by thorough internal testing across all major devices and browsers. The testing phase was crucial for taking into consideration any feedback received, making sure that the website is optimised for search engines, and that the appropriate tracking has been implemented. Finally, once the testing was completed and CMS training had been undertaken, the website went live!

Solution

Our team of developers worked closely with BOS to create a bespoke website built using WordPress and WooCommerce. We designed the website to be user-friendly, with a clean and modern design. The new BOS website provides a modern, user-friendly platform for members to access valuable resources. The website was designed to be responsive making it easy to use on desktops, tablets, and mobiles. This was made possible by our team undertaking a thorough audit of the content on the old website and going through a process to merge or cull old content to bring to the surface the latest and most important content.

We created a members' area on the website, which provided secure and exclusive access to valuable resources such as research papers, conference presentations, and training materials. This members' area was integrated with WooCommerce to provide a secure online shopping experience for members. The website's design is clean, modern, and easy to navigate, making it an engaging platform for members to interact with BOS and stay up-to-date with the latest news and events in the field of orthodontics.
