Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol appointed us to design and develop a resource portal filled with a catalogue of Welsh and bilingual resources in the Higher Education, Further Education ('FE') and Apprenticeship sectors.
A key requirement was for the site to offer users an accessible way to search for resources relevant to them. This development needed to provide the client with a method to easily update the catalogue as they didn't have one central location where all the available/endorsed resources could be searched.
We cannot fault our experience of working with WebBox. They understood and responded to the brief perfectly and delivered the project within a very tight schedule. We are really pleased with the end result and now have a great looking website where users can easily search through our database of Welsh-medium resources. In addition to this, they have developed a bespoke, and simple to use, CMS for us which they quickly adapted following our feedback, uploading bilingual content is so quick and much easier than with other CMS’s we have used in the past. Many thanks to the team at WebBox.Joanna Evans Development Officer
Our solution was the design and development of a website using a bespoke design and a user-friendly content management system (CMS) which would act as a resource portal filled with searchable Welsh-medium resources.
Key items which met and exceeded the client's requirements included:
- A responsive design which is also compatible with the new and legacy browsers
- Fully bilingual with the option to choose the preferred language
- A database format that is easy for Coleg Cymraeg to maintain
- A robust search function with a number of filter options to include:
Subject, Field, Type of Resource, Level of Study, Keyword and Author
- Search results display in a tile/thumbnail format offering further options for user information
- CMS training and on-going support.
With the arrival of the Coronavirus pandemic, we accelerated the development of the website as it enables students to continue their studies with Welsh language materials during the isolation period.View website
