A game-changer in the dental industry wanted to make it easier to communicate between practices and locum nurses.

Airlocum is a first-to-market online platform that connects locum nurses to dental practice managers in real-time and on-demand. When working this way nurses take home more while practices pay less, it’s a win-win solution for all.

The Challenge

As a start up, Airlocum needed wider marketing and digital support from a consultancy perspective, which we were glad to provide. In doing so we could define their requirements and choose the most appropriate technologies for their short and long term objectives.

Spending the time upfront – in the Discovery Phase – allowed us to shape the requirements and uncover the business objectives that would determine the phased delivery approach.

As a first-to-market business, there were few websites to compare or benchmark against, which in this instance was beneficial as we could use ‘blue sky thinking’ to develop the requirements.

The Solution

To cater to both target audiences, we designed and developed a bespoke web application that would work for dental nurses and dental practices – the two clear audiences who would benefit from Airlocum’s offering.

For ease of use, dental nurses are able to quickly set up an account via Facebook or Google or they have the option to set up an account manually if they prefer. Once they have successfully registered they will be presented with a dashboard which, at a glance, provides the opportunity to view bookings, income, their loyalty bonus that has been accrued, complete timesheets and upload key mandatory documents.

But that’s not all – the system also encourages flexibility as nurses can indicate which days they are available and collect payments via Stripe for completed shifts, making the process quick and easy.

The benefits for dental practices include their own dedicated dashboard where they can see booking details, financial information, timesheets, invoices and the ability to leave reviews for locum nurses they’ve hired all in one place.

Our team was excited to get into a project that combines both web and digital marketing to enhance Airlocum’s offering. This includes using Google Ads, Facebook Ads (video, carousel & retargeting) & LinkedInAds (Sponsored in-mail) with the aim of attracting practice managers to start using the platform.

What’s next

In the first few phases of the project, Airlocum has seen a 75% increase in Nurse sign-ups, 67% increase in practice sign-ups and a 6% increase in overall conversion rate – an excellent start if we say so ourselves!

We are in a programme of continuous development with Airlocum, evolving the platform with new features that will further increase the functionality and user experience of the platform.
